કુલીન રાજા અને ભૂમીશ્વર ઉપર ઉપકાર
૩૩ એ આદિ આપણું દેશને લાભકારક અને રાજ્યકર્તાની આંખો ઉઘાડે એવા અનેક ઉત્તમ વિચારો સ્વતંત્રતાથી પ્રસિદ્ધ રીતિએ ફાર્બસે આવ્યા છે. આ પ્રસંગે ખેદાનંદયુક્ત હૃદયથી કહેવું પ્રાપ્ત છે કે-આ દેશના લોક ઉપર, તેમાં મુખ્યત્વે કરીને ઉચ્ચ વર્ગના કુલીન રાજા, ભૂમીશ્વર (વતનદારો) આદિ લેક ઉપર, કુલીન ફાર્બસે, મનસા, વાચા, અને કર્મણે એ ત્રણે કરી જે ઉપકાર કર્યા છે, તે અજી કદાપિ તેઓ જાણતા નહિ હોય, પણ જે દેશાભિમાની જાણી શક્યા છે તેઓને સંતષિત કરે છે. તે ઉપકાર જેમ

But fortunately we are not called upon to snuff the battle from afar, and we can afford to await philosophically the termination of the contest, trusting that it may result in good to India by some means which are not apparent to us, and meanwhilo caring very little whether “Roderigo kill Cassio Or Casslo him, or each do kill the other."
