This is a Prakrit-Magadhi-Sanskrit Dictionary by Jainapravara Swetamber Acharya His Holiness Sri. 1008 Sri Bhattarak Vijaya Rajendrasūri who is the celebrated author of many works in Sanskrit on philosophy and religion. This unique dictionary deals in detail with the Sūtras enunciated by the ancient & most revered Ganadharas, & their Vrittis, Bhagyas, Niryuktis, Curnis alongwith the history of the various Darsanas-Vedanta schools, Nyaya, Vaigesika & Mimamsă systems of thought in an elegant & Beautiful style. It has clarified many philosophical abstract terms in simple & lucid language. The lexicon contains among other things the biography of the renowned author & learned introduction which contains in an outline the grammer of the Prakrit language and a glossy of Prakrit words & phrases. The celebrated & revered author of this monumental work namely His Holiness Sri Vijaya Rajendrasūri was born on the 3rd December 1827, at Bharatpur. Sri Vrishabhadasa & Srimati Kesarbai were his parents. He was given the name of Ratnaraja by his parents. He had a brother by name Manikyachand & a sister Premabai. He had great devotion towards his parents. When he was very young the cruel fate snatched away from him his parents. He visited countries like Ceylon, and cities like Calcutta with his brother in connection with his trade & Commerce. The pangs of separation of his parents at early age had their own influence on the mind of this young man; he developed an aversion towards the worldly affairs & embraced the ideals of asceticism & longed for Darsan & Association of YOGIS' who had renounced all that was earthly & conquered the sensual desires & cravings.
