Panchagranthi (qt).146 It was composed at Jalor in V. 1080, after consulting the works of Panini, Chandra, Jinendra, Viśranta and Durga 147 and is known also as Buddhisagara and Sabdalakṣma. Instead of being in Sutra form, it was in verse, and thus as a grammar it stands in a class by itself. 148 Hemchandra, the guru of Kumārpāla, was another great grammarian, His faKEN was produced in Siddharaja-Jayasimhas reign and gradually displaced some of the older grammars, the,,, etc. It is divided into eight chapters. The first seven dealing with Sanskrit and the last one with various Prakrits and Apabhramsa. With the Sutras are his own commentaries, Pradyumnacharya studied Haima-Vyakarana,149 A copy of Hēmachandra's gf copied as early as V. 1206, has been found at Jaisalmer.149 Hemchandra's younger contemporary, Malayagiri wrote the . Panini, Patanjali, and Bhartrihari were known Haribbadra as grammarians, a fact that proves the popularity of the Paninean system in beginning of our period. This popularity oɔntinued, though in a lesser degree, after the composition of newer grammars like the सरस्वतीकण्ठाभरण and सिद्धहैम. Jinavallabha studied eight grammatical systems, of which the only one named, however is that of Panini. 150 Jaisalaměr Bhandars have manuscripts of कातन्त्रोत्तरम् ( विद्यानन्दम् ), कातन्त्रवृत्तिपञ्जिका of त्रिलोचनदास, कातन्त्रवृत्तिदुर्गपदप्रबोध of प्रबोधमूर्ति and कातन्त्रविभ्रमटीका of जिनप्रभसूरि which shows the continued vitality of the कातन्त्र system in Rajasthan.15 There are also a few miscellaneous works like the विभक्तिविचार ( written V. 1206 ), and व्याकरणचतुष्कावचूरि which show the people's interest in grammar.
