માઈલની મુસાફરી એ કંઇ વધારે ન હતી. મુસાફરી થોડી હોવા છતાં ગામની, ભિક્ષાનાં ઘરોની, પાણીની, ઠહેરવાનાં મકાનની, તે દેશના મનુષ્યના સ્વભાવની-વિગેરે વિગેરે કંઈક અગવડતાઓ નજર સામે આવતી હતી. તેમાં જેટલી રાહત મળી શકે, સરળતા પ્રાપ્ત થઈ શકે તેટલી કરી લેવી જરૂરની હતી.
સરકારી સહાયતા.
મને જણાવતાં ખુશી થાય છે કે અમારા વિહાર સંબંધી ગવર્નમેન્ટ ઓફ ઈન્ડિયા” તરફથી અને જોધપુર સ્ટેટ તરફથી સારામાં સારી અનુકૂળતા કરી આપવામાં આવી હતી. “ગવર્નમેન્ટ ઓફ ઇન્ડિયાના એસિસ્ટન્ટ પોલીટીકલ સેક્રેટરી મેજર Gaisford સાહેબે એક જનરલ પરિચયપત્ર-રેકમન્ડેશન લખી આપ્યો હતો કે જેને ઉપયોગ અમે ગમે ત્યાં, ગમે તે ઓફીસરની આગળ કરી શકીએ.
