नावपंगुरे ।
कवाडं नो पणुल्लिज्जा उग्गहंसि अजाइया ॥

१८ : साणीपावारपिहियं
सन (अलसी का बना वस्त्र ) की बनी हुई चिक से अथवा कपड़े या पर्दे से ढके हुए द्वार को गृह स्वामी की आज्ञा के बिना साधु अपने आप न खोले ॥ १८ ॥
18. An ascetic should not, on his own, remove the curtain made of hessian or cloth from a door without the permission of the owner of the house.
१९ : गोयरग्गपविट्ठो अ वच्चमुत्तं न धारए । ओगासं फासुनच्चा अणुन्नविअ वोसिरे ॥
मल-मूत्र की बाधापूर्वक साधु गोचरी के लिए नहीं जावे। यदि वहाँ जाने पर बाधा हो जाय, तब प्रासुक ( निर्दोष-निर्जीव) मल-मूत्र त्यागने का स्थान देखकर और गृहस्थ की अनुमति लेकर ही मल-मूत्र का परित्याग करे ॥ १९ ॥
19. An ascetic should not go out to seek alms without relieving himself of any natural physical urge (like urinating). If the urge comes after he has moved out, he should find a proper place free of living organisms and relieve himself after getting permission from the householder.

२० : नीअदुवारं तमसं कुट्ठगं अचक्खुविसओ जत्थ पाणा
जिसका दरवाजा बहुत नीचा हो, जिस कोठे (कोष्ठक - कमरे) में अन्धकार हो, जहाँ पर आँखें कुछ काम न देती हों और जहाँ पर जीव दिखाई न पड़ते हों, साधु ऐसे स्थान को टाले। ( वहाँ गोचरी के लिए न जाय )॥२०॥
20. An ascetic should avoid going to a room which has a low or small gate, which is dark and gloomy, and where eyes fail to see the presence of any creatures or insects.
