४१. सच्चा वि सा न वत्तव्वा, जओ पावस्स आगमो।
७/११ वह सत्य भी नहीं बोलना चाहिए, जिससे किसी प्रकार का पापागम (अनिष्ट) होता हो।
Avoid uttering even the truth that causes harm. 7/11 ४२. न लवे असाहुं साहु त्ति, साहुं साहु त्ति आलवे।
७/४८ किसी प्रकार के दबाव या खुशामद से असाधु (अयोग्य) को साधु (योग्य) नहीं कहना चाहिए। साधु को ही साधु कहना चाहिए। Under no pressure or persuasion a disciplined shraman should call an impostor an ascetic (accomplished one). He should call an ascetic only who really is.
7/48 ४३. न हासमाणो वि गिरं वइज्जा।
७/५४ हँसते हुए नहीं बोलना चाहिए। One should not laugh while speaking.
7/54 ४४. मियं अदुटुं अणुवीइ भासए, सयाण मज्झे लहई पसंसणं।
जो विचारपूर्वक सुन्दर और परिमित शब्द बोलता है, वह सज्जनों में प्रशंसा पाता है। The shraman who thinks before speaking and speaks sweetly
with brevity draws praise from the sages or noble men. 7/55 ४५. वइज्ज बुद्धे हियमाणुलोमियं।
बुद्धिमान ऐसी भाषा बोले, जो हितकारी हो एवं अनुलोम-सभी को प्रिय हो। The wise should use pleasing and sweet language that
benefits all. ४६. अप्पमत्तो जये निच्चं।
८/१६ सदा अप्रमत्तभाव से साधना में यत्नशील रहना चाहिए। One should always indulge in spiritual practices with alertness and sincerity.
