33. It is the duty of a gracious shraman that he should accept the instructions and directions of the great acharyas with reverence and then execute them successfully.
३४ : अधुवं जीवियं नच्चा सिद्धिमग्गं वियाणिया।
विणियट्टिज्ज भोगेसु आउं परिमियमप्पणो॥ इस जीवन को अध्रुव (अस्थिर) और मोक्षमार्ग को स्थिर-सत्य एवं अपनी Kes/ आयु को स्वल्प (परिमित) जानकर, साधु हमेशा काम-भोगों से निवृत्त रहे ॥३४॥
34. Realizing the ephemeral nature of life and knowing the illustrious path of liberation an ascetic should desist from indulging in mundane pleasures during this short life-span. क्षेत्रकाल का ज्ञान रखे ३५ : बलं थामं च पेहाए सद्धामारुग्गमप्पणो।
खेत्तं कालं च विन्नाय तहप्पाणं निमुंजए॥ अपने मनोबल, शरीरबल, श्रद्धा, आरोग्य तथा द्रव्य, क्षेत्र, काल और भाव आदि का उपयुक्त विचार करके साधु अपनी आत्मा को यथाशक्ति धर्मकार्य में नियुक्त करे॥३५॥ KNOW THE TIME AND THE PLACE
35. Judging his own strength and endurance, faith and health, matter and its state and place and time, an ascetic should indulge in religious activities to the best of his abilities.
३६ : जरा जाव न पीडेइ वाही जाव न वड्डई।
जाविंदिया न हायति ताव धम्म समायरे॥ जब तक शरीर जरा-बुढ़ापे से पीड़ित नहीं होता, जब तक शरीर पर रोगों का जमघट नहीं लगता है, जब तक श्रोत्र चक्षु आदि इन्द्रियाँ शक्तिहीन होकर काम करने में असमर्थ नहीं होती हैं तब तक सावधान होकर धर्म का आचरण कर लेना चाहिए॥३६॥ (देखें चित्र क्रमांक १५)
