कीयस्स-कीचकस्य-बाँस का-यह उदाहरण इस कारण दिया है कि बाँस फल लगने पर सूख जाता है। ELABORATION:
(1) Pamayam-inactivity caused by various reasons including indulgence in mundane pleasures, slumber, alcoholism and purposeless conversation. ___Vinayam-discipline, humbleness and proper conduct. It has two stages--learning and applying these in ones life.
Keeyassa-bamboo tree; it has been used as an example because a bamboo tree dries naturally when it bears fruit. २ : जे आवि मंदि त्ति गुरुं विइत्ता डहरे इमे अप्पसुअ ति नच्चा।
हीलंति मिच्छं पडिवज्जमाणा करंति आसायण ते गुरूणं॥ जो साधु अपने गुरुओं को मन्दबुद्धि या अल्पज्ञानी, अल्पवयस्क एवं अल्पश्रुत जानकर उनकी अवहेलना करते हैं तथा उनके उपदेश को मिथ्या मानते हैं वे अपने गुरुओं की आशातना करने वाले हैं॥२॥
2. Considering their teachers to be dull wit, immature and having little knowledge of the scriptures, the ascetics who neglect their teachers and take their teaching to be false are in fact doing great dishonor to their teachers.
विशेषार्थ :
श्लोक २. आसायण-आशातना-विनाश करना या दुर्व्यवहार करना। गुरु की अवमानना करने का प्रयत्न अथवा सम्यग्दर्शन का लोप जिस क्रिया से हो वह आशातना कहलाती है। अन्य संदर्भो में इसके अर्थ होते हैं-प्रतिकूल व्यवहार, विनयहीनता, विरोधभाव विपरीत कथन आदि। ELABORATION: ___(2) Asayan-misbehavior; indiscipline; misconduct; impropriety; insubordination; to neglect the teacher; to indulge in any activity that is detrimental to right perception.
