गुरुसेवा की महिमा THE IMPORTANCE OF SERVING THE GURU
१. जहाहिअग्गि.....-जैसे अग्नि का देवता मानकर पूजा करने वाला ब्राह्मण घी आदि की आहुतियों से तथा वेद मंत्रों से उसकी उपासना करता है, वैसे ही शिष्य चाहे अनन्त ज्ञान सम्पन्न हो जाय, देवताओं द्वारा पूज्य हो जाय तथापि वह विनयपूर्वक गुरु की सेवा करता रहे।
(अध्ययन ९/१, श्लोक ११) 1. A Brahmin worships fire considering it to be divine. He offers butter and other oblations as well as Vedic chants. In the same way, a disciple should serve his guru, irrespective of his becoming a great scholar or being revered by gods.
(Chapter 9/1, verse 11) २. जहा निसंते तवणच्चिमाली....-जैसे दिन में प्रदीप्त होता हुआ सूर्य सम्पूर्ण भरत क्षेत्र को प्रकाशित करता है। इन्द्र देवताओं द्वारा सेवित होकर शोभा पाता है। रात के समय बादलों से मुक्त आकाश में ताराओं से घिरा शरद पूर्णिमा का चन्द्र सुशोभित होता है, वैसे ही विनीत शिष्य परिवार से परिवृत आचार्य शोभित होते हैं।
(अध्ययन ९/१, श्लोक १४-१५) 2. During the day the sun lights the whole hemisphere. Indra's glory becomes evident when there are many gods in attendance. The glory of the full moon is displayed when it is surrounded by stars on a cloudless night. In the same way a guru appears glorious when surrounded by a group of humble disciples.
