अनासक्त विहार १0 : न या लभेज्जा निउणं सहायं गुणाहिअं वा गुणओ समं वा।
___ इक्को वि पावाइं विवज्जयंतो विहरिज्ज कामेसु असज्जमाणो॥
कदाचित् अपने से गुणों में अधिक या समान एवं संयम-क्रिया में निपुण कोई Ka साथी न मिले तो मुनि पापकर्मों का परिहार करता हुआ एवं काम-भोगों में
अनासक्त रहता हुआ अकेला ही विचरे (किन्तु शिथिलाचारी साधुओं के संग न रहे)॥१०॥ DETACHED MOVEMENT
10. If it so happens that he does not get the company of an ascetic who is better than him or equal in virtues and steadfast in discipline, he should move alone avoiding indulgence in mundane pleasures (but never be in the company of shramans who are lax in conduct). ११ : संवच्छरं वावि परं पमाणं बीयं च वासं न तहिं वसेज्जा।
सुत्तस्स मग्गेण चरिज्ज भिक्खू सुत्तस्स अत्थो जह आणवेइ॥ साधु के लिए वर्षा ऋतु में एक स्थान पर चार महीने और अन्य ऋतुओं में एक महीना ठहरने का उत्कृष्ट प्रमाण बताया गया है। अतः मुनि जिस गाँव में काल के इस उत्कृष्ट प्रमाण तक रह चुका हो तो उसी स्थान पर दूसरा चातुर्मास अथवा मास-कल्प नहीं करना चाहिए। क्योंकि सूत्र के उत्सर्ग और अपवाद रूप अर्थ की जिस प्रकार से आज्ञा हो, उसी प्रकार सूत्रोक्त मार्ग पर चलना चाहिए॥११॥
11. It is ordained that the maximum period of stay for a shraman at a place is four months during the monsoon season and one month otherwise. Therefore, an ascetic who has completed his maximum stay at one place should not extend it for another such maximum period of stay. In other words an ascetic should strictly follow the text and the meaning of the scriptures in normal as well as exceptional situation.
