ब्रह्मचर्य के विघातक तत्त्व FACTORS THAT NEGATE CELIBACY
१. जहा कुक्कुडपोयस्स-जिस प्रकार मुर्गी के बच्चों को बिल्ली से भय बना रहता है, इसलिए वे उससे दूर ही रहते हैं, उसी प्रकार ब्रह्मचारी स्त्री के शरीर से सदा दूर रहे। ____ 1. Just as chickens keep away from a cat out of fear, so should a celibate person, driven by fear, keep his distance from a female body.
२. चित्तभित्तिं न निज्झाए-स्त्री के भित्ति चित्र को अथवा आभूषणों से सज्जित स्त्री को ब्रह्मचारी नहीं देखें।
(श्लोक ५५) 2. A person who has taken the vow of celibacy should never look at the pictures of women or women adorned with ornaments.
(verse 55) ३. हत्थ-पाय पडिच्छिन्नं-जिसके हाथ-पैर कटे हुए हों, कान-नाक आदि विकृत हों, वैसी सौ वर्ष की बूढ़ी स्त्री हो तब भी ब्रह्मचारी उससे दूर रहे और उस पर दृष्टि पड़ने पर तुरन्त दृष्टि नाचा झुका ले, जैसा कि मध्याह्न के सूर्य पर दृष्टि पड़ते ही स्वयं नीची झुक जाती है।
(श्लोक ५६) 3. Even if a woman is ugly, disfigured or aged, a celibate person should not go near her. If he chances to look at such woman he should at once shift his glance as one does when he happens to look at the midday-sun.
(verse 56) ४. विभूसा इत्थी संसग्गी-आत्म-गवेषणा करने वाले ब्रह्मचारी के लिए विभूषा, शृंगार, स्त्री-संसर्ग, दूध, मेवा, मिठाई मधुर-स्निग्ध प्रणीत भोजन आदि ताल-पुट विष (हथेली पर रखा हुआ तीव्र विष) की तरह घातक होते हैं।
(श्लोक ५७) 4. For a celibate devoted to exploration of the self, make-up, embellishing, the company of the opposite sex, consuming rich food including milk, dry-fruits, sweets, etc., is as deadly as a fatal poison in his palm.
