PLACE OF STAY
52. An ascetic should stay at a place or house that has been constructed for a householder and not for ascetics. There should be a proper place to attend to calls of nature in the premises and there should be no woman or animal living there. He should use only those things (bed, mattress, etc.) which were made for others.
५३ : विवित्ता अभवे सिज्जा नारीणं न लवे कहं । गिहिसंथवं न कुज्जा कुज्जा साहूहिं संथवं ॥
उपाश्रय आदि में यदि अन्य साधु न हो, वह अकेला ही हो तो केवल स्त्रियों के बीच धर्मकथा प्रवचन आदि न करे । गृहस्थों के साथ परिचय या वार्त्तालाप भी न करे। साथी साधुओं के या सत्पुरुषों के साथ ही परिचय या वार्त्तालाप करना चाहिए ॥५३॥
53. At the place of stay if there are no other ascetics and he is alone, he should avoid discussions and discourses with women. He should not be friendly with householders and should not even talk to them. He should talk and be friendly with ascetics or pious people only.
ब्रह्मचर्य-रक्षा के उपाय
५४ : जहा कुक्कुडपोअस्स निच्चं कुललओ भयं । एवं खु बंभयारिस्स इत्थी - विग्गहओ भयं ॥
ब्रह्मचारी पुरुष को स्त्री के शरीर से उसी प्रकार भय की संभावना बनी रहती है जिस प्रकार मुर्गी के बच्चे को बिल्ली से सदा भय वना रहता है ॥ ५४ ॥ ( देखें चित्र क्रमांक १८ )
