NEGATION OF HARMING WATER-BODIED BEINGS
6, 7. An ascetic should never consume fresh water, hails, rain water, snow or any other sachit water. In case of need he should consume achit water made so by boiling or otherwise.
A wise shraman should not rub his body dry with a piece of cloth or even with his palms. He should not even touch the part of his body that is wet.
अग्निकाय हिंसा - निषेध
८ : इंगालं अगणिं अच्चिं अलायं वा सजोइयं । न उंजिज्जा न घट्टिज्जा नो णं निव्वावए मुणी ||
सावद्य कामों में मौन रखने वाला मुनि अंगारे की, लोह पिण्ड की, टूटी हुई ज्वाला की, सुलगते हुए काठ आदि की अग्नि को न तो तिनके आदि डालकर प्रज्वलित करे, न उसका स्पर्श करे और न जल आदि डालकर बुझावे ॥ ८ ॥
NEGATION OF HARMING FIRE-BODIED BEINGS
8. A faultless shraman should neither increase by adding fuel, nor touch, nor extinguish by sprinkling water, any fire; may it be of embers, molten iron, broken flames or burning wood.
वायुका हिंसा - निषेध
९ : तालिअंटेण पत्तेण साहाए विहुणेण वा । न वीइज्ज अप्पणो कायं बाहिरं वा वि पुग्गलं ||
साधु अपने शरीर को तथा बाहरी पुद्गलों को ताल वृक्ष के पंखे से, कमल आदि के पत्तों से, वृक्ष की शाखा से तथा अन्य किसी पंखे से हवा नहीं करें ॥ ९ ॥
NEGATION OF HARMING AIR-BODIED BEINGS
9. An ascetic should not blow air at his body or any outside thing with palm leaves, lotus leaves, a tree branch or any other type of fan.
