________________ सिद्ध-सारस्वत जब मैं प्रथम विदाई के समय अपने मायके जा रही थी। तब अपने सास-ससुर के प्यार से मैं अपनी सास से लिपट कर रो रही थी और सास ससुर सान्त्वना दे रहे थे। उस समय वाराणसी स्टेशन पर ट्रेन में बैठे लोग बोले क्या बेटी को ससुराल भेज रहे हैं ? मैं उस समय बड़ी अभिभूत हुई और आज तक उस घटना को नहीं भूल सकी। अमेरिका में प्रवचनों के लिए समाज ने मेरे ससुरजी को बुलवाया था, ये उनकी प्रथम विदेश यात्रा थी उस समय का संस्मरण मुझे बहुत अच्छे से याद है। हमारा पूरा परिवार अपने आप में बहुत गौरवान्वित महसूस कर रहा था। पापा ने वहाँ बहुत धर्म-प्रभवना की, बहुत लोगों को प्रभावित किया, अपनी तत्त्व चर्चा और प्रवचनों के माध्यम से बहुत सारे लोग जिज्ञासा लेकर आते और पापा सभी को उचित समाधान बताते। तत्त्वार्थसूत्र की क्लास में भी समाज के सभी वर्ग के लोगों ने पढ़ने-समझने में बहुत रुचि दिखाई। लाइव टेलीकास्ट भी होता था। फोन से उसी समय प्रश्न भी आते थे। हमारी काफी अपनी जिज्ञासाओं का समाधान किया और हमें धर्म के सही ज्ञान के प्रति रुझान जगाया। पापा जब भी कोई नयी जगह जाते हैं या वस्तु देखते हैं तो वे बड़े तार्किक और प्रामाणिक दृष्टि से परखते हैं। बहुत बारीकी से अवलोकन करते हैं। सारे पहलुओं पर वे बहुत जुझारु, लगनशील एवं मेहनती हैं। पिता एक वट वृक्ष है, जिसकी शीतल छाया में, सम्पूर्ण परिवार सुखी रहता है। हर छोटे संकटों में माँ ही याद आती है। पर जब बड़े संकट आते हैं तो पिता से ही सलाह लेते हैं। उमड़ते घुमड़ते विचारों को मैं डायरी में लिखा करती थी, वही एक अच्छी दोस्त थी मेरी। अचानक एक दिन मेरी डायरी के सारे पन्ने फटे हुए मिले मेरे तो आँसू आ गए। परन्तु पापा जी दूसरे दिन मेरी डायरी को पुन: व्यवस्थित कर मेरे सामने खड़े थे। उस क्षण खुशी से मेरी आँखे नम हो गयीं। बहुत ध्यान रखते हैं सभी की खुशियों का, ऐसे हैं मेरे ससुर (पिता)। भगवान् करे मेरे जैसा सास-ससुर-पतिदेवर-ननद वाला परिवार मिले। यहाँ मुझे लगता ही नहीं कि में ससुराल में हूँ। श्रीमती अर्चना जैन साराटोगा, केलिफोर्निया, अमेरिका My Father-in-law is an Example of the Hard work As daughter-in-law, privilege that only 3 people have, I was inspired by my father-in-law even before I became his daughter-in-law. I had heard about my father-in-law's achievement even before my marriage.some lessons that I have tried to incorporate in my life. (1) During the marriage ceremony, I truly witnessed his mastery of litrature when he effortlessly tied all the relatives name from both families into a piece of literature. Since then I have seen him explaining many facets of Jainism in a very simplified manner which makes us all understand those complex granthas into common person language. (2) I have seen him follow his true zest of knowledge almost all the time. Many a times it is not about Jainism, but it would be anything from our daily life use where he would tirelessly try to figure out and fix things which are not his cup of tea. That shows focus and dedication. Something that today's generation can certainly learn from, a trait he showed when learning about computers and social media. He did not shy away from it but put in the effort to learn it and use it to further his goals and passion. That to me is amazing. (3) Another quality that had made a big impact on me is his focus. I have seen him lost in his research, even after retirement, where he would forget about food and others around him. (4) He has been awarded mant honors and awards in his lifetime, though the 119
