Soon enough, everyone was caught up playing in the fluff, and I even got to make snow angels with Dadaji. Dadaji is many things, and until then I had always seen him as a serious grown up, who had no time for childish silliness. But at that moment, he showed the depth and complexity of his character. He was mature enough to find the positive side of that disappointing day, but still in touch with his inner child, which I realized when he joined me in making a matching snow angel. He and I have shared many more special memories since. He is always moving forward, which is something I admire deeply about him since for me, it is so easy to get caught up in past events and let them hold me back from the things I want to pursue. This past summer, I helped him set up his new iPad and learn new functions on his Facebook. His room was sweltering and thick with humidity, but I forgot all of the discomfort of the heat as I laughed in response to his cool, dry humor and got caught up in his excitement to learn new things. Dadaji has always been a significant presence in my life, and there is a lot to be learned from him. It can be hard to recognize everything he has done and all the lessons sometimes because he rarely explains them verbally. Instead, it is his actions that ultimately guide me forward. Ku.
