writes to say : सोज्झअ = शोधक (washerman); सुआ - his daughter. तित्थावासो जणो सव्वो कओ. सोज्झअ अ सुआए कओ तित्थावासो जणो सव्वो ।
“The washerman's daughter made all men have a (permanent) residence at the river-ford. She kept them gazing at her for a long time."
665. Bhoja cites this gāthā to illustrate the variety, called 31-4R. Hq (Mar. Rai,
Hindi H5341). The Sanskrit commentary (NS edn., p. 345) says : 951-91ralfag 1 सुरभितस्य मरुवकस्य सौरभनिमित्ताय पुष्पं यथा नाधिककामनीयं तथा सहजसौन्दर्यसौष्ठवादिगुणगणालंकृतस्य Ta Pa at JucYTETRufa ura: ---- There is yet another explanation : The situation according to DR is as follows: The female friend (sakhi) of the nāyikā asks her-"Why did you not have a baby all these days ? And what are the dealings of your husband ?”. The nāyikā felt embarrased and did not give any reply. The sakhi thereupon says : "Do not feel embarrassed, if you have not borne a child so far, due to your (or your husband's) craze for practising viparīta-rata (contrary intercourse). That does not matter. Even in the absence of a baby, you are experiencing the rapture of viparīta-rata with your husband, that is after all not à small thing." - quoted by M. V. Patwardhan.
