Bhoja cites this skandhaka as an illustration of HRT (deception). Prof. M. V. Patwardhan wrote to say: "Your restoration of the stanza is O. K. I would translate the stanza as follows : If (UF) when the heart (mind) of a person making a show of false politeness is accepted (eais) (as genuine) out of courtesy, and if such a show of feigned politeness is to be regarded as a manifestation of (true) love, then there would be indeed no difference between sincerity and hypocrisy (सद्भाव and कैतव)." 1087.
