Sobhākara cites it here as an example of the figure Naiyama, newly added by him. He thus comments on it : इत्यादावन्यलक्षण्येन देवगत्यादेवैषम्यादिकमज्ञातं ज्ञापितमित्यस्यार्थनिषेध इति नियम एव - |- पृ. १४४.

Sobhākara cites it in the course of his discussion of the figure Niyama. He does not recognise Uttara as a distinct figure apart from Niyama (og पृथगुत्तरालंकारो, वाच्य: । प्रश्नपूर्वकस्य नियमस्योत्तरान्तर्भावात् ।). He comments on this gatha as follows : एवमादावुत्तरात् प्रश्नोन्नयनरूपस्योत्तरस्य चारुताभावाद् अनलारत्वम् । - पृ. १४५.

Sobhākara cites it in the course of his treatment of the figure Niyama. He does not admit that the gātha contains any such figure as 'Mālākhyam Uttaram' or 'Vakovākyam'. He clearly states that as there is no strikingness of expression, vicchitti, it is devoid of any figure of speech: "इत्यादी मालिकाख्यम् उत्तरं वाकोवाक्यं
वा विच्छित्यभावादनलङ्कार एव । - पृ. १४५. 108. This gātha is already dealt with; vide DHV S. No. (2.6) supra.

Sobhakara cites this gåthà as an example of the figure Parisaṁkhyā. The king's hand that only gave away in charity, stretched out only to receive the sword in difficult battle-fronts (only.) : Sobhākara thus comments on it: अत्र खड्गग्रहणे करप्रसारणस्य नृपतेतिस्य ज्ञापनं दैन्यादिसुलभत्वेन करप्रसारणनिषेधार्थम् । -पृ. १४६.
110. Sobhakara cites this gatha as an example of Parisamkhya. He prefaces the gatha
with the introductory remark : "प्राप्ते प्रेषणेन यथा-" and thus comments on the gatha: अत्र वक्तगहादन्यत्रकरणे स्वत एव प्रवृत्तस्य चन्द्रस्य यत्प्रेषणं तत्तदगृहज्योत्स्नाकरणस्य निषेधार्थम । -- पृ. १४७.
111. Sobhākara cites this gātha as an example of the figure Pratiprasava. He
comments on the gatha as follows: अत्रातिबाल्यदशायां प्रवृत्तस्य स्तनचिन्तनस्यार्थावसेयनिवृत्तस्य तारुण्येऽप्याविर्भाव: । (एकस्य च धवलस्तन - चिन्तनस्य बाल्यतारुण्यरूपे नैकस्मिन् क्रमेण भावात् पर्यायसंकीर्णता ।) - पृ. १४८.
