Abdul Rahman and others are being sung even now by the Jain laity. "The right Prabhavana (glory) of Jainism,” says eaint Samantabbadra, is to dispel the gloom of ignorance by the sun of knowledge and every Jain votary is ever anxious to preserve in this sacred cause in order to spread the right knowledge all over the world. Therefore it looks absurd to say that Jainism lacks missionary spirit.
Of course it is a fact that no Jain relio bas been found in any foreign country, except Tibet, where Dr. Tucci found a Jaina image which he carried over to Rome. But we should remember also, in this respect that so far no scientific research or study has been made in aay of the couutries by a Jaipologist and it is possible that Jaia relics might bave been passed for as those of Buddbists, as has been the case in India in early days of Indian research. Moreover instances are not lacking when later Buddists erected their edifices or terraced temples on older remains of the Jain Faith.
In this article therefore, we propose to show that Jainism did not remain confined to lodis only. In the light of arobeological finds at Mohenjodaro and Harappe the history of Indian culture and with it that of Jainism should be calculated since interior to Tirthankaras Parsva and Mahavira'.
