________________ P2 વજ alcohilo SPEAKER LOK SABHA INDIA. 08 THE VOWS ARE VERY ESS I have pas the vows preso 528 and they a very essential to * Ibile and spiritual he people. The diff unfortunately, has been not the want of a proper philosophy of life, but the want of praca tice of our ancient philosophy. From what I have seen all these years in all walks of HON'BLE SHRIG. V. MAVALANKAR life, I feel the necessity of practice of the principles, which we always have on our lips. Non-violence has to be a creed of the life of everyone of us. It is difficult to make it a creed. It requires the acquisition of a good number of qualities. Unless a man shreds his fear-complex, speaks truth and looks upon others the same way in which he looks upon himself, it is not possible for him to practise non-violence; and again, mere physical non-violence is not enough. There must be nonviolence in thoughts as well as in words and deeds. It is only when we begin to practise on a large scale nonviolence of this type that we shall be able to realise full democracy. Mere absence of the foreigner or a machinery for election does not give us democracy in the real sense of the term. In other words, it is necessary to spiritualise our individual as well as national life.
