श्री रत्नदेव जी के शास्त्रार्थ ने, जो इन्होंने श्री विद्याशिववादी जी से उज्जैन के महाकाली जी के मन्दिर में किया था, नरवमादेव के हृदय पर जैन धर्म का गहरा प्रभाव डाला था'। जैन गुरु श्री समुद्रघोष जी से धार्मिक चर्चा कर के यह बड़े प्रसन्न हुए'। जैन आचार्य श्री वल्लभसूरि जी से तो यह इतने अधिक प्रभावित थे कि इन्होंने उन के चरणों में सर झुकाया था। इसके पुत्र यशोवर्मादेव ने जिनचन्द्र नाम के एक जैनी को गुजरात का गवर्नर बनाया था' । महाराजा विन्धिया वर्मा (११६५) ने श्री श्राशाधर आदि अनेक जैन विद्वानों का बड़ा सन्मान किया था ।
१६.होयसलवंशी सम्राट विनयादित्य (१०४७-११००) जैन धर्म के दृढ विश्वासी थे। इन्होंने जिनेन्द्र भगवान की भक्ति और पूजा के लिये बहुत से जैन मन्दिर बनवाये । ये जैनाचार्य श्री शान्तिदेव जी के शिष्य थे । इनका पुत्र ऐरयाङ्ग जैन फिलोस्फी
१.३. Narvarmadeva, too, was fond of hearing religious
discourses. Jaioacharya Ratnadeva held a great debate with Shaiva Scholar Vidiya Shivavadi in the Mahakaji temple of Ujjain to win the heart of the King and he cmae out successful in it. Narvarma was also pleased to hear the religious disconrse of Jain guru Samudragbosa as well and bowed his head at the feet of Jain teachar Vallabha Suri. Without doubt he was greatly influenced by these teachers and the Jains enjoyed his royal patronage.
