(उ.) गौतम । जघन्य स्थिति अन्तर्मुहूर्त की और उत्कृष्ट स्थिति बाईस हजार वर्ष की है। (प्र.) भगवन् ! अपर्याप्त बादर पृथ्वीकायिक जीवो की स्थिति कितने काल की है ?
(उ.) गौतम ! ( अपर्याप्त बादर पृथ्वीकायिक जीवों की ) जघन्य और उत्कृष्ट स्थिति अन्तर्मुहूर्त्त की है। पर्याप्त बादर पृथ्वीकायिक जीवों की जघन्य स्थिति अन्तर्मुहूर्त्त की और उत्कृष्ट अन्तर्मुहूर्त्त न्यून बाईस हजार वर्ष की है।

385. (1) (Q.) Bhante! What is the duration of the sthiti (lifespan) of Prithvikayik (earth-bodied) beings?
(Ans.) Gautam ! The minimum life-span is antar-muhurt (less than one muhurt) and the maximum is twenty two thousand years.
(Q.) Bhante! What is generally the duration of the sthiti (lifespan) of Sukshma Prithvikayık (minute earth-bodied) beings and specifically of Sukshma Aparyapt and Sukshma Paryapt Prithvikayık (minute underdeveloped and fully developed earthbodied) beings?
(Ans.) Gautam ! The minimum as well as maximum life-span of all these three is antar-muhurt (less than one muhurt).
(Q.) Bhante! What is the duration of the sthiti (life-span) of Badar Prithvikayık (gross earth-bodied) beings?
(Ans.) Gautam ! The minimum life-span is antar-muhurt (less than one muhurt) and the maximum is twenty two thousand
years.
(Q.) Bhante! What is the duration of the sthiti (life-span) of Aparyapt Badar Prithvikayık (underdeveloped gross earth-bodied) beings?
(Ans.) Gautam ! The minimum life-span of Aparyapt Badar Prithvikayık (underdeveloped gross earth-bodied) beings is antarmuhurt (less than one muhurt) and the maximum is antar-muhurt (less than one muhurt). However, the minimum life-span of Paryapt Badar Prithvikayık (fully developed gross earth-bodied)
