इस क्रम को व्याप्य व्यापक की दृष्टि से इस प्रकार कह सकते हैं-प्रत्येक जीव में भाव होता है, भाव का हेतु है कर्मप्रकृति। कर्म का मुख्य हेतु है मोह। मोह का हेतु है राग, राग का हेतु लोभ, लोभ का हेतु माया, माया का हेतु मान और मान का हेतु है क्रोध। ये सभी भाव एक दूसरे से सम्बन्धित हैं। इसलिए इनका एक भाव से दूसरे भाव में समवतरित होना स्वाभाविक है। ___ समवतार का वर्णन करने के साथ उपक्रमद्वार की वक्तव्यता पूर्ण हुई।

533. (Q.) What is this bhaava samavatar (assimilation of the state of soul or state-assimilation) ?
(Ans.) Bhaava samavatar (assimilation of the state of soul or state-assimilation) is of two types—(1) Atmasamavatar (selfdependent assimilation), and (2) Tadubhayasamavatar (assimilation dependent on self and others both). (For example)
According to Atmasamavatar (self-dependent assimilation) krodh (anger) is assimilated in its own form or state and according to Tadubhayasamavatar (assimilation dependent on self and others both) in conceit (maan) as well as its own form or state. In the same way, according to Atmasamavatar (self-dependent assimilation) (1) maan (conceit), (2) maya (deceit), (3) lobha (greed), (4) raga (attachment), (5) mohaniya karma (deluding karma), and (6) eight karma prakritis (species of karma by qualitative segregation) are assimilated in their own forms or states and according to Tadubhayasamavatar (assimilation dependent on self and others both) in six kinds of states (of the soul) as well as their own form or state.
In the same way, according to Atmasamavatar (self-dependent assimilation) six kinds of states of the soul including soul as jivastikaya (soul entity) are assimilated in their own forms or states and according to Tadubhayasamavatar (assimilation dependent on self and others both) in substances as well as their own form or state.
