इङ्गिताकारितै यैः क्रियाभिर्भाषितेन च।
नेत्र-वक्त्रविकारैश्च गृह्यतेऽन्तर्गतं मनः॥३॥ से तं आसएणं। से तं सेसवं। ४४७. (प्र.) आश्रय से शेषवत् अनुमान क्या है ?
(उ.) धूम से अग्नि का, बगुलों की पंक्ति से पानी का, अभ्रविकार (आकाश में छाये बादलों) से वृष्टि का और शील सदाचरण से कुलपुत्र (कुलीनता) का। तथा
शरीर की चेष्टाओं से, भाषण करने से और नेत्र तथा मुख के विकार से अन्तर्गत मनआन्तरिक मनोभावों का ज्ञान होना ॥३॥
यह आश्रय से होने वाला शेषवत् अनुमान है। ___447. (Q.) What is this Ashrayena Sheshavat Anumaan (inference by available evidence of support or dependence) ? ___(Ans.) The (examples of) Ashrayena Sheshavat Anumaan (inference by available evidence of support or dependence) are as follows-Fire is inferred by smoke, water by a row of cranes, rain by cloud formation, scion of a good family by his good conduct. ___Also, the inside of the mind (inner feelings) is inferred by visible gestures, postures, actions, speech and changes in expression of eyes and countenance of face.
