४४४. (प्र.) कारण से उत्पन्न शेषवत् अनुमान क्या है ?
(उ.) कारण रूप चिन्ह से उत्पन्न शेषवत् अनुमान इस प्रकार है-तंतु (धागा) पट (वस्त्र) के कारण हैं, किन्तु पट ततु का कारण नहीं है; वीरणा (तृण) कट (चटाई) के कारण हैं, किन्तु कट वीरणा का कारण नहीं है; मिट्टी का पिंड घडे का कारण है, किन्तु घडा मिट्टी का कारण नहीं है। यह कारण से शेषवत् अनुमान है। ____444.
