(१) तीन प्रकार की परिषद १. ज्ञायिका परिषद्-विनयपूर्वक योग्य आसन से बैठकर वक्ता की वाणी सुनकर उसका गुण ग्रहण करने वाले श्रोता।
२. अज्ञायिका परिषद्-जिनमें न तो विनय का गुण होता है न ही जिन्हें सुनने की विधि का ज्ञान होता है किन्तु मन से सरल और सीधे होते हैं। सुनते हुए वक्ता की तरफ नहीं देखकर इधर-उधर देखते हैं। चाहे जिस आसन से बैठ जाते हैं।
३. दुर्विदग्धा परिषद्-जिसको न तो तत्त्व का ज्ञान होता है और न ही सुनने की विधि का ज्ञान है, फिर भी अहंकार में अकड़कर बैठता है। ऐसा अविनीत श्रोता। (गाथा ५२)

(1) THREE TYPES OF CONGREGATION There are three types of congregation
1. Jnayika Parishad-The listeners who properly take their seat, humbly listen to the speaker and absorb the virtues.
2. Ajnayika Parishad–These listeners lack modesty and are ignorant about the etiquettes or procedure of attending a lecture. However, they are simple minded ignorants. While listening they do not look at the speaker, just look around. Their sitting postures too are immodest. __ 3. Durvedagdha Parishad-These are the listeners who have no inkling about the fundamentals neither are they acquainted with the procedures of listening. Still they behave like snobs and conceited. (52)
