वैनयिकी बुद्धि के दृष्टान्त १. विद्याध्ययन-दो छात्र गुरु के पास ज्योतिष-निमित्त विद्या का अध्ययन करते थे।
एक विनीत था, दूसरा अविनीत। २. वृद्धा का प्रश्न-दोनों एक बार किसी सरोवर के किनारे बैठे हैं। एक वृद्धा ने
उनसे पूछा-मेरा पुत्र परदेश से कब तक लौटेगा? ३. दोनों का उत्तर-उसी समय वृद्धा का पानी भरा घड़ा गिर पड़ा, फूट गया।
अविनीत शिष्य बोला-घड़ा फूटना अपशकुन है। तेरा पुत्र मर गया। वृद्धा दुःखी
हुई। तब विनीत बोला-जा माता, तेरा पुत्र घर पर तैयार मिलेगा। ४. पुत्र-मिलन-वृद्धा घर आई तो पुत्र उसका इंतजार कर रहा था। उसने माता के
चरण छुए। विनीत का सन्मान-वृद्धा प्रसन्न होकर विनीत निमित्त के लिए अनेक उपहार लेकर आई। दूसरा अविनीत छात्र यह देखकर बहुत दुःखी हुआ। गुरू से विद्या समान पढ़ने पर भी विनय द्वारा प्राप्त विद्या फलदायी होती है तथा अविनीत का ज्ञान विपरीतगामी हो जाता है। (सूत्र ५० का दृष्टान्त)

EXAMPLES OF VAINAYIKI BUDDHI 1. Vidyadhyayan-Two students are studying astrology from a + teacher. One was modest and the other immodest.
2. Old woman's question—The two students are sitting near a 4 pond. An old lady asks them, when her son would return home?
3. Answer-The pitcher the lady carried slipped, fell and shattered. The immodest said—This is an ill omen. Your son has died. The lady 4 became sad. Now the modest one said-Mother, go home, your son
awaits. ____4. Meeting the son-The old lady reached home and found her son waiting. He touched his mother's feet.
5. Honouring the modest—The lady was pleased and brought many gifts for the modest augur. The immodest one became sad. 5 Even after getting the same lessons from the teacher the 4 knowledge acquired with modesty if fruitful. The knowledge of an 41 卐 immodest bears no fruits. (Example from 50)
