उत्तर - आदि के चार पूर्वों में चूलिकाएँ हैं, शेष चूलिकारहित हैं। यह चूलिका का वर्णन है।
109. Question-What is this Chulika?
Answer-The first four Purvas have Chulikas and the remaining are without them.
This concludes the description of Chulika.
विवेचन - चूलिका या चूला पर्वत के शिखर या चोटी को कहते हैं । यह सामान्यतया पर्वत के आधार भाग से अलग गिनने में आता है । उसी प्रकार किसी शास्त्र के आधार भाग से पृथक् जो अतिरिक्त सामग्री दी जाती है उसे चूलिका कहते हैं । अर्थात् ग्रंथ में चर्चित विषय सम्बन्धी सामग्री जो परिशिष्ट रूप हो वह चूलिका कहलाती है ।
Elaboration-Chulika or chula means the peak or pinnacle of a mountain. This is generally counted separately from the base and body of a mountain. In the same way the extra material, other than the basic text, included in a scripture is called Chulika. In other words the extra material related to the basic text and given as appendix and/or addendum is called Chulika.
