As space has been shown to be subtler than time, matter is subtler than space because a space point is occupied by one skandh (a bunch of particles of matter, atom) of matter which in turn is composed of infinite paramanus (ultimate particles). Bhava (mode) is even subtler than matter because every ultimate particle has infinite modes with reference to shape, smell, taste and touch.
The maximum or ultimate Avadhi-jnana is acquired just a moment (antarmuhurt) before attaining Kewal-jnana and it power to see even an ultimate particle.

२२ : से किं तं हीयमाणयं ओहिणाणं ?
हीणमाणयं ओहिणाणं अप्पसत्थेहिं अज्झवसाणट्ठाणेहिं वड्डमाणस्स, वड्ढमाणचरित्तरस, संकिलिस्समाणस्स, संकिलिस्समाणचरित्तस्स सव्वओ समंता ओही परिहायइ ।
सेत्तं हयमाणयं ओहिणाणं ।
अर्थ - प्रश्न - यह हीयमान अवधिज्ञान कैसा होता है ?
उत्तर- अप्रशस्त अथवा कलुषित विचारों में रमण करने वाले अविरत सम्यग्दृष्टि जीव, देशविरतिचारित्र और सर्वविरतिचारित्र वाले व्यक्ति (साधु) जब ऐसे अशुभ विचारों से संक्लेश अथवा दुःख प्राप्त करता है और फलस्वरूप उसके चारित्र में विकृति आती है तब सब ओर से और सभी प्रकार से अवधिज्ञान की पूर्व अवस्था में ह्रास / हानि होता है।
इस हीन होते अवधिज्ञान को हीयमान अवधिज्ञान कहते हैं ।
22. Question - What is this Heeyaman Avadhi- jnana ? Answer-When an avirat samyakdrishti being (the being who has acquired right perception but is not completely detached) or an ascetic observing conduct of partial or complete detachment, involved in mean or pervert thoughts, suffers pain or sorrow as a consequence of such impious involvements, and consequently his conduct becomes faulty, then from every direction and in every way there is a decline in the existing level
