इसी बीच दूसरा गॉव निकट आ गया। वह व्यक्ति वहाँ की पंचायत में गया और सारा हाल 15 सुनाया । वृद्ध सरपंच अनुभवी था उसने अपनी औत्पत्तिकी बुद्धि से काम लिया। दोनों स्त्रियों को पुरुष से दस-बारह कदम दूर खड़ा कर दिया और उनसे कहा - " जो स्त्री इस पुरुष को पहले छू लेगी उसे ही इसकी पत्नी माना जाएगा।"
यह सुनकर उस पुरुष की पत्नी तेज कदमों से आगे बढी । व्यन्तरी ने झट से अपना हाथ आगे बढ़ाया और उसे लम्बाकर पुरुष को छू लिया। सरपंच ने झट से कहा - " अब पोल खुल 5 गई।" पुरुष को उसकी पत्नी मिल गई और व्यन्तरी हारकर अन्तर्ध्यान हो गई ।

14. The Path - A man with his wife was going to another village on a chariot. On the way his wife asked him to stop the chariot, and 卐 went to a nearby bush to relieve herself. On a roadside tree lived a witch. She was attracted towards this man. She transformed herself into the form of the man's wife and came to sit near him in the chariot. The man started the chariot. Just then the real wife came 5 out of the bush. Pointing at her the witch said — " Look ! Some witch has taken my form and is coming in our direction. Please increase the speed of the chariot."

रूप धर लिया है।” पुरुषं किंकर्त्तव्यविमूढ़ हो गया। दोनों स्त्रियों की ओर देखता और सोचता कि क्या करूँ, कैसे पहचानूँ । उसने रथ की गति कम कर दी।
Before the man could increase the speed the real wife arrived near the chariot. Running along the chariot she pleaded-"Please stop the chariot, my lord! The one who is sitting with you is some witch disguised as me." The man was in a quandary. He shifted his gaze from one woman to the other and thought-what to do, how to spot the real one. He reduced the speed of the chariot. फ्र

By this time they arrived near a village. The man went to the local panchayat (a group of five village elders) and narrated his story. The old head of the panchayat was very experienced. He applied his Autpattiki Buddhi. He made the two women stand about ten to twelve steps away from the man and said to them--"The lady who first touches this man will be accepted as his wife."
Hearing this the real wife started running towards her husband. The witch just extended her hand and touched the man. The village head said "The disguise has been removed now." The man got his wife and the witch disappeared.
