She was very proud of 45 3 her knowledge and conduct. One day she went to the king's assembly 卐 16 and addressed the king, “Sire, there is no one in the town who can
defeat me in a debate." This conceited remark disturbed the king and he made an announcement that he who defeats the sanyasıni will be
richly rewarded. In spite of this announcement no one came to 4 confront the sanyasini. Some days later a Kshullak decided to melt 5 4 the sanyasini's ego and came to the assembly.
The sanyasini laughed when she saw the challenger- "Ha! This 4 shaved head will face me!” The Kshullak did not react. He could 4 55 assess the cunning mind of the sanyasini by her utterance and 5
decided to employ a suitable trick. He said—“You will have to accept
defeat if you cannot do what I do." The conceited sanyasini thought u that there was hardly anything that the petty Kshullak could do and
she could not. She said "I accept your challenge.” The Kshullak was eager to hear this reply. He at once caught hold of the arm of the nearest courtier and made him stand. He now took off the only cloth covering his body and wrapped it around the courtier. He turned to face the sanyasini and said—“Now do as I did.” The sanyasını looked
at the now nude Kshullak and at once shifted her gaze. She uttered ॐ shyly-"No, I can't do this.” Her ego shattered, she accepted her 41 defeat and went to her place. ॐ १४. मार्ग-एक व्यक्ति अपनी पत्नी सहित रथ में बैठकर किसी अन्य गाँव को जा रहा था। ॐ + मार्ग में एक सुनसान स्थान पर उसकी पत्नी रथ रुकवाकर पास की झाड़ी में लघुशंका हेतु गई।
रास्ते के किनारे एक विशाल वृक्ष पर एक व्यन्तरी रहती थी। वह उस पुरुष पर मोहित हो गई ॐ और उसकी स्त्री का रूप बनाकर उसके पास आकर बैठ गई। रथ रवाना हो गया। तभी झाड़ी 9 में से पुरुष की पत्नी बाहर आई। उसे देख व्यन्तरी ने पुरुष से कहा-“देखो, कोई व्यन्तरी मेरे * जैसा रूप धरकर उधर से आ रही है। आप रथ को तेज चलायें।"
पुरुष रथ की गति बढ़ाता तब तक उसकी पत्नी पास आ गई और रथ के साथ दौडती हुई कहने लगी-“रथ रोको स्वामी ! आपके पास जो बैठी है वह तो कोई व्यन्तरी है जिसने मेरा
