: ૫૪૯ મૂર્તિપૂજક જૈન સંઘ ભાઈનું સાધર્મિક વાત્સલ્ય દરેકના દૂધથી પગ ધંઈ ભક્તિ કરેલ. અનાથાશ્રમ, અપંગ શાળામાં ભોજન પહોંચાડે એવી પ્રવૃત્તિને વેગ મળવો જોઈએ. આ માટે ગૃહસ્થાએ રાજ કેટના વર્ધમાનનગર, પ્રહલાદ પ્લેટ, માંડવી ચોક, શ્રમજીવી, લીબવાડી, જૈન દેરાસર (યુનિવર્સિટી રેડ) મણિયાર, યારોડ, જાગનાથ, રણછોડનગર દેરાસરે જુના કપડા સાંધી મોકલી આપવા અનુરોધ કરવામાં આવ્યો છે.
મહોત્સવ અંગે યોજાયેલી એક પત્રકાર પરિષદમાં જૈન મહારાજે સર્વશ્રી પ્રભાકર સૂરીશ્વરજી તથા અન્યએ અખબારેમાં માનવીમાં રહેલી શક્તિઓ કેવી રીતે સાવિક અને તાવિક માર્ગે વધુ વિકાસ પામે તેવા સમાચારોને વધુ મહત્વ મળવું જોઈએ એવી હિમાયત કરી હતી.

12,000 Jains attend Rajkot ceremory Over 12,000 Swetamber Jains took part in the Swami vatsyala ccremony at the Vardhaman Nagar Jain Derasar here on Sunday.
It was part of the rites which had been going on since September 21 in memory of gachchhadhipati Sri Ramchandra Suriswarji, who attained nirvana at 96.
The rites would go till Ocrober. On the last day all derasars in Rajkot would be decorated for a special ritual that also marks the end of penance by Acharya Prabhakar Suriswrji.
A model of Shetrunjay Maha tirth of Palitana. which 22 tirthankaras had visited. has been displayed at the derasar. It depicts major centres of the Jains' pilgrimage at Palitana in Bhavnagar d strict. Other rangolis and models from Jainism are also on display.
Asked how Jainism, which stresses austerity, endo'sed these rituals and huge spending, the spiritual leader, Acharya Sri Prabhakar Suriswarji, clarified that funds were for propagating the concept of non-violence and also instilling among people a feeling of brotherhood and charity.
He explained how devotion and sacrifice of Jain saints had led to a change of heart and reformed criminals and power mongers. There could be difference of opinion among even saints. But there was difference of approach or goal. All their pursuits were aimed at the liberation of soul from worldly bondage.
Acharya Sri Prabhakara Suriswarji completes his 98-day penance on Tuesday. An ashtottari mahapooja will be held at Vardhaman Nagar Derasar.
