१. क्षीरधात्री-दूध पिलाने वाली, २. मज्जनधात्री-स्नान कराने वाली, ३. मंडनधात्री-आभूषण वस्त्रादि पहनाने वाली, ४. क्रीड़ापनधात्री-खेल खिलाने वाली एवं ५. अंकधात्री-गोद में रखने वाली । वह अनीकसेन दृढ़प्रतिज्ञ कुमार के समान एवं पर्वत की गुफा में एकान्त में जिस प्रकार चंपक वृक्ष निर्विघ्न बढ़ता है, उसी प्रकार वह सुखपूर्वक बढ़ रहा था । दृढ़प्रतिज्ञ कुमार का वर्णन औपपातिक सूत्र में आया है । अन्तकृद्दशा महिमा में देखें।
Chapter 1 Anikasena Kumāra Maxim 2 :
Sudharmă Swami-O Jambut ! At that time and at that period, there was a city named Bhaddilapura. That had many characterstics like great cities, opulated with wealth and agriculture products, gardens and parks, buildings and palaces and free from fear. So it was describable. Out of that city Bhaddilapura, in its north-east direction, there was situated a garden (park) named Srivana. The ruler of Bhaddilapura was king Jitaśatru. In that city lived Näga Gathāpati (trader). He was wealthy and respected. He was not daunted by any task. Sulasā was the wife of Nāga Göthāpati. She was beautiful and tender-bodied. She gave birth to a son named Anikasena. He was also beautiful and tender. He was nurtured by five foster mothers dhātrī mātâ). These were-(1) Foster mother, who make him to drink milk. (2) Majjana dhātri-bathing mother. (3) Mandana dhātrī, the mother who adorns him by clothes and ornaments, (4) Kridá dhātrī, she was supporter to him in play. (5) Lap mother-who fondles him in her lap.
