SPIRITUAL LIGHT.
is a condition or a state in which the Perfect Soul remains ever liberated and freed. Even animals desire freedom which implies happiness and so it is quite natural and logical that wise persons with spiritual illumination and advancement would wish for freedom in its increasing growth and intensity from the bodily imprisonment. When freedom reaches its full growth, the happiness also reaches the height of perfection from which there is no fall or return to worldly existence. Hence there is no real happiness in any other place, except in the final emancipation of the Soul.

મેાક્ષ સિવાય ખીજે ક્યાં વાસ્તવિક સુખ નથી; અને મેક્ષ તથા શરીરુ, એ અને પરસ્પર વિરૂદ્ધ છે; માટે મુમુક્ષુ લેાકેા શરીર ઉપર મૂઢતા રાખતા નથી, કિન્તુ ભાગલબ્ધ મનુષ્યા, તે ઉપરના મેહમાં અન્ય અન્યા રહે છે. ”—૭૧
વ્યાખ્યા.
શરીર કેવા દુર્ગંધી પદાર્થીથી ભરેલું છે, એ આપણને પ્રત્યક્ષસિદ્ધ છે. શરીરને પડતાં સડતાં વાર લાગતી નથી, એ વાત આપણે સારી પેઠે જાણીએ છીએ. આવી સ્થિતિમાં શરીરને પંપાળ રાખવામાં આવે, શરીરને પ્રમાદી–સુસ્ત બનાવવામાં આવે, વિષયભાગમાંજ શરીરને ઉપયાગ લેવામાં આવે, મેાજમજા ઉડાવવામાંજ શરીરના ભાગ આપવામાં આવે, અથવા પાપકર્મીમાં શરીરને જોડવામાં આવે, તે તે દુનિયાને કાઇ પણ સુવિચારક મનુષ્ય સારૂં લેખશે ખરા ? દુનિયાના પ્રાણિઓ અનાદિકાલથી વિષયરસમાં લપટાયા છે. એ સ્થિતિથી હઠાવીને જીવાને પુણ્ય માર્ગે દોરવાની ખાતર શરીરની યથાર્થ સ્થિતિ-કે તે ખરાબ ચીજોનું પૂતળુ' છે—બતાવવી, એ સહુ કૈાઇ વિસમાજ અત્યાવશ્યક સમજી શકે તેમ છે; અને તેજ અભિપ્રાયથી પ્રસ્તુત શ્લામાં તે વિષયને પરિચય
