સભ્યત્વરૂપ દૂધ યદિ સાચવી રાખવું હોય, તે અભિમાનરૂપ સર્પ સાથે તેને સંગ થવા ન દેવો જોઈએ. વિદ્યારૂપ ચન્દ્રની સ્નાઓ, भान३५ १६ मसी पाथी २५२ छ "-३४ मानः क्व कर्तव्यः ?मानः पदार्थे क्व विधातुमर्ह इत्येव सम्यग् हृदि चिन्तनीयम् ।। प्रत्यक्षमालोक्यत एव विश्वे कुतोऽपि कोऽप्यस्त्यधिको हि मर्त्यः॥३५॥ अनन्यसाधारणबुद्धिमत्त्वमनन्यसाधारणशक्तिमत्त्वम् ।। अनन्यसाधारणभाषकत्वं क्वाऽस्मासु कुर्याम यतोऽभिमानम् ॥३६॥ न श्रीः प्रसन्ना प्रविकासिदृग्भ्यां न भारती दत्तवती वरं च।। अलौकिकं कर्म कृतं न किञ्चित् तथाप्यहो ! दर्पसमुद्धतत्वम्॥३७॥ न धीरिमा वा न गभौरिमा वा न सासहित्वं न परोपकारः। - महान् गुणो वा नहि कोऽपि तादृक् तथापि गर्वः किमतः प्रहास्यम् ?

It is well to ponder over what object is worthy of being taken pride in. It is a matter of direct experience in this world that every man somewhere meets another who is more than a match for him. (35)
We are not endowed with really matchless bodily, mental and oratorial powers. Why should we then be vain ? (36)
Oh I the vain gloriousness of human beings, though the goddess of wealth with her eyes blooming like lotuses smiles not on them, the goddess of learning
