અધ્યાત્મતત્ત્વાલક. [ શું થતા શોધો મવતિ, રોમિમાગ ga કુત?— वनस्पतित्वे च पिपलिकात्वे समागतोऽनेकश एष आत्मा। .. तदाऽभिमानो गलितोऽस्य कुत्र न सह्यते सम्पति दुर्वचो यत् ?॥१९॥
This person was many times taken birth in the vegetable kingdom and in that of insects. Where had he lost his pride then that he does not now bear the bitter words ? ( 19 ) ક્રોધને ઉત્પન્ન કરનાર અભિમાન શા ઉપર?—
“ આ પ્રાણી અનેકવાર વનસ્પતિકાયમાં તથા કીડી વગેરે યોનિએમાં જિન્દગી ભોગવી આવ્યું છેતે તે વખતે એને અભિમાન ક્યાં ગળી ગયું હતું કે અત્યારે ભાઈસાહેબથી લગારે ખરાબ વચન સહન કરી શકાતું નથી ? ”-૧૯ નહિ શોધઃ ષિતઃ શાન્તિ–
आक्रोशशान्तिर्मधुरैर्वचोभिराक्रोशतोऽसौ पुनरेति वृद्धिम् । प्रदीपनस्य प्रशमाय वारि क्षिपन्ति नोत्तेजकमिन्धनादि ॥ २० ॥
Sweet words pacify the imprecations. Intensity of calumniating words provokes further reviling shouts ( in response ). Water extinguishes the blazing fire and not the fuel, etc., which only increase it. 20 ) : કેપથી ફેધ શાન્ત થતું નથી–
ક્રોધ કરનાર માણસને ક્રોધ, તેની હામે ઉચિત રીતે મધુર શબ્દને વ્યવહાર કરવાથી શાન્ત થાય છે; પરંતુ દુર્ભાશીની હામે દુર્ભાષી બનવાથી વિરોધ વધે છે. દૃષ્ટાન્ત ખુલ્લું છે કે બળતી અગ્નિને શમાવવા પાણીને જ ઉપગ કરાય છે, કિન્તુ કાષ્ઠ વગેરેનો ઉપયોગ કઈ કરેજ નહિ”-૨૦
