COMMENTARY-SUMMARY TRANSLATION Agni is my inner Atma. So, he pervades in and out, this world, the atom, the minerals and similarly this body as well. He made me like himself. By his grace I have become Jyotirmaya- all light and all-pervasive.
अष्टमी ऋक् । अग्निरयं सत्यो वाचा च ब्रह्मणा समानेन रसेनाचितः सन् त्मना | अमृतः स आत्मा तपसा परीतः स इदग्निः संवित् स्वरसः सँस्वनः ॥ ८ ॥ अग्निः। अयं । सत्यः। वाचा। च । ब्रह्मणा । समानेन । रसैन । आऽचितः। सन् । त्मना ।। अमृतः। सः। आत्मा । तप॑सा । परि । इतः! सः। इत् । अग्निः। सम्ऽवित् । स्वरसः। सम्ऽस्वनः ।।
पदपाठः
This Agni is Satya- the Truth. He is equated with the Soul, being in harmony with the Vák-Brahma. He is certainly the Immortal Atmå permeating everything by his brilliance. That Agni is right knowledge full of harmony ( Atmananda) and sweet sound.
अन्वयभाष्यम्। अयं अग्निः स्वयं सत्यः सन् ब्रह्मणा मन्त्ररूपया प्रत्यक्षब्रह्मात्मिकया वाचा सह समेन रसेन सामरस्येन त्मना आत्मना स्वात्मरूपेण आ समन्तात् अखिलैः प्राणिभिः उपचितः उपसगृहीतः अन्तर्यामिस्वरूपेण प्राप्तः, सः अमृतात्मैव सन् स्वेन तपसा तेजसा तत्त्वत्रयात्मकेन परीतः सर्वत्र व्याप्तः, सोऽयं अग्निरेव संवित् सम्यगज्ञानस्वरूपः, स्वरसः आत्मानन्दरसस्वरूपः, संस्वनः स्वानुभावोद्गारात्मकः सम्यक् स्वरनादादि स्वरूपश्च भवतीति ॥
COMMENTARY-SUMMARY TRANSLATION This Agni is truth. According to the Våk-Mantra, Brahma is visible and is universally accepted as once own soul- the indweller. Being immortal he permeates by his Tapas everything. He is indeed Agni, Wisdom incarnate; he is full of harmony; he is replete with sweet sound which expresses itself out of self realisation.
