छन्दोदर्शनम् पदपाठ :- तत् । प्राणैः । पुनरिति । स्वरितम् । मूर्ध्नि । स्वरत्ऽभिः। तृतीयम् ।
इदम् । ते । पदम् । तुरीयम् । अनु । ब्रवीमि । जिह्वया ॥
Våk places or locates her third step in the head (brain ) with the vital airs. Then I express with my tongue your fourth step which is speech.
अन्वयमाष्यम्। स्वरद्भिः प्राणेः पुनः मूनि सङ्कल्पस्थाने स्वरितं तत् तृतीयं पदं, ते तुरीयं इदं पदं जिह्वया अनुब्रवीमि, तृतीयं पदमनुलध्यैवेति ||
COMMENTARY-SUMMARY TRANSLATION
The sound-making Pranas in the head ( brain ) are the place of the third foot of Våk. That is the place of the will of man. Without violating the truth of the third step, I proclaim the fourth step (Turia or transcedental ).
___ अष्टमी ऋक् । रसवती त्वं चन्द्रमसो रसैः प्रवहतो दिवि ।
सवितुः स्वरतस्तपसा वाक् त्वं स्वरवती स्वरैः ॥ ८॥ पदपाठ :- रसऽवती । त्वम् । चन्द्रमसः । रसैः। प्रऽवहतः । दिवि ।
सवितुः । स्वरतः । तप॑सा । वाक् । त्वम् । स्वरऽवती । स्वरैः ।। You are full of the sweetness of the moon who moves in the skies. You are the Våk (sound) of Savitå who makes sound on account of his Tapas (austerities). You are full of sounds and are therefore called Svaravati.
अन्वयभाष्यम्। दिवि मूनि द्यौर्हि मूर्धा अध्यात्मम् , प्रवहतः चन्द्रमस: मनोरूपस्य रसैः त्वं रसवती, मनसा विप्रतिषिद्धानि कपटवचनानि विषप्रायाणीति यावत् , संवादीनि तु अमृत वहन्तीति “दैवरातो” मन्यते, तपसा नित्येन स्वरतः सवितुः मुख्यप्राणस्य-मुख्यं हि प्राणं सवितारमामनन्ति विभूतिप्रस्तावे, तस्य स्वरैः हे वाक् ! त्वं स्वरवती च भवसि, यः खलु मुख्यप्राणे तिष्ठन् वाग्व्यापारं करोति तस्यैव वचने सावित्रः परमवीर्यवत्तरः स्वरः स्फुटः स्यादिति ॥
COMMENTARY--SUMMARY TRANSLATION The head is the sky (in the individual). There, the moon, the mind, moves about: By his ( moon's) essence, Vak becomes sweet. "All deceitful.
