छन्दोदर्शनम
नाममात्रेण अवशिष्टं बभूव इति यावत्, ब्रह्मणा तेन प्रेरिता सती नामात्मकं तद् विश्वबीजं बीजरूपं विश्वं वा निजे गर्भ बिभर्षि, तस्मात् हे वाक् ! सा त्वं ब्रह्मणः विदा--संविदे च माता प्रमात्री, तथा विश्वस्यास्य जगतो योनिस्वरूपा प्रसवित्री च भवसि इति ||
COMMENTARY-SUMMARY TRANSLATION Oh Sarasvati ! you are the supreme sky and Aditi, the original mother. So, in you Aditi, the visible and the invisible sky and this universe dwell as word, and remain as word only, even before creation. The universe was with you as word only. Directed by Brahma, you bear in your womb, the universal seed'in the form of word. That word is the embryo of this universe. Therefore, you are the measure of Brahma and the mother of this universe.
नवमी ऋक् । सरस्वति त्वं धात्री विश्वस्य नाभिवि एव विश्वमाविरदं बभूव ॥ वाचा विश्वं जीवत्युप वाचं प्रैति
वाग् विदा माता विश्वस्य ब्रह्मणो योनिः ॥९॥ पदपाठ :- सरस्वति । त्वम् । धात्री । विश्वस्य । नाभिः ।
वाचः । एव । विश्वम् । आविः । इदम् । बभूव ।। वाचा । विश्वम् । जीवति । उप । वाचम् । प्र । एति । वाक् । विदा । माता । विश्वस्य । ब्रह्मणः । योनिः ॥
Oh Sarasvati ! you are the mother, bearing within yourself this universe; and you are the navel of this universe. This universe manifested itself by and through word only. By word it lives and at the end it enters into the word. You are Vak, the mother of the universe and proof of Brahma.
अन्वयभाष्यम्। हे सरस्वति ! त्वं विश्वस्य जगतः अस्य धात्री धरित्री धारयित्री च नाभिः मूला आधारशक्तिरूपा, तस्मात् वाच एव सकाशात् इदं विश्वं आदिसृष्टौ आविर्बभूव इति श्रूयते, तथा तया वाचैव परया शक्त्या इदं विश्वं जीवति, सम्प्रति आ प्रलयं च इतः परं वाग्रसेनैव प्राणिति जीविष्यति च, तथा पुनरन्ते इदं सर्वं जगत् वाचं स्वां स्वां सज्ञात्मिकां उपैति
