छन्दोदर्शनम्
May the Water-deities purify me who is their own, of all the bad words heard by my ears, from the vicious things touched by my skin ( body) and free me from the sin of having seen prohibited things.
अन्वयभाष्यम् । ___ मम श्रोत्रेण दुःश्रुतं अश्राव्यं शास्त्रनिषिद्धं च यत् श्रुतं भवेत्, तथा त्वचा त्वगिन्द्रियेण दुष्ट असद्वस्तुजातं यत् संस्पृष्टं व्यामोहात् स्पर्शनालिङ्गनादिरूपं कृतं च स्यात्, तथा चक्षुषा च दुर्दृष्टं दुष्टं दृश्यं यत् दृष्टं तेन च निष्पन्नं यद् यद् एनः मम अस्ति तस्मात् सर्वस्मादपि दोषजातात् ताः आपो देव्यः मां पुनन्तु इति ॥
COMMENTARY-SUMMARY TRANSLATION I might have heard by iny.ears what ought not to be heard according to the shăstras. I might have touched by my skin what ought not to have been touched and I might have seen with my eyes sinful things through mistake. From the sins accruing from all these, may those Water-deities purify me who is their own.
नवमी ऋक् । यन्में जिह्वया दूरसः स्वदितो यदन्तरुदरै धृतो दूरसः॥ यन्नासिकाभ्यां दुराघ्रातमेन
स्ता आपो देव्यः स्वमीं मां पुनन्तु ॥९॥ पदपाठः - यत् । मे । जिव्हया । दुःऽरसः । स्वदितः ।
यत् । अन्तरित। उदरै । धृतः। दुःऽरसः ।। यत् । नासिकाभ्याम् । दुःऽआघातम् | एनः ।
ताः । आपः । देव्यः । स्वम् । ईम् । माम् । पुनन्तु ॥ My tongue might have tasted forbidden things, my stomach might have borne within itself forbidden food, and my nose might have smelt bad odours. From all that kind of sin, may the Water-deities purify me who is their own.
अन्वयभाष्यम् । जिह्वया रसनेन्द्रियेण दूरसः शास्त्रनिषिद्धो दुष्टो रसः, स्वभावत: दुष्टः वाङ्-मनोभावादिभि: दुष्टो वा यत् स्वदितः स्वरसेन आस्वादितः जिह्वाचापल्येन भक्षितः, तथा पुनः सः दुष्टो रस: उदरे अन्तः यत् सन्धृतः, तथा नासिकाभ्यां यत् दुराघ्रातं दुष्टो गन्धो
