छन्दोदर्शनम्
द्वितीया ऋक् । साकमिन्द्रेण या यूयमापः प्राणाः पृथिवीषु ।
ता आ यात रसैरन्ग्मृ तैर्वनस्पतिभिः ॥२॥ पदपाठः - साकम् । इन्द्रेण । याः । यूयम् । आपः। प्राणाः । पृथिवीपु ।
ताः । आ । यात । रसैः । अन्नैः । अमृतैः । वनस्पति ऽभिः ॥
Oh, you Waters ! you are the very life ( vital powers ) of this earth along with Indra. May you come down with the juices, the foods, the ambrosia and herbs.
अन्वयभाष्यम् । हे आपः ! याः यूयं इन्द्रेण मध्यमाग्निना वैद्युतेन साकं पृथिवीषु पृथिवीसंस्थेषु शरीरिषु प्राणाः प्राणसत्त्वरसरूपा: स्थ, ताः यूयं रसैः विश्वसारभूतैः । अन्नैः विश्वोपजीव्यैः अमृतैः सुधामयैः वनस्पतिभिः सह आयात, ओषधिः प्राप्याः वनस्पतयो व्याख्याताः इति ॥
COMMENTARY-SUMMARY TRANSLATION
Oh Waters ! along with Indra, who is lightning and is called Madhyamagni, you are the very life of the earth; come down with the necessary juices and food for sustenance of all, also with Amộta, full of ambrosia, and with the medicinal herbs.
तृतीया ऋक् । आपो देव्यः सँस्रवन्त्यः पुनः पुनः पर्वतेभ्यः ।
पार्थिवेन मामुपाप्ता ज्योतिषा सङ्गमयत ॥ ३ ॥ पदपाठः - आपः । देव्यः । सम्ऽस्रवन्त्यः । पुनःऽपुनः । पर्वतेभ्यः ।
पार्थिवेन । माम् । उप । आप्ताः । ज्योतिषा । सम् । गमयत ॥
Oh, presiding deities of Waters ! flowing again and again from the mountains, and coming towards me, bring about my union with the light on earth.
