COMMENTARY-SUMMARY TRANSLATION The inner soul is conscious energy. He, in the form of a flame with his various forces of vital airs, that is prana, entered the body. It is light and lightning which entered the waters or the liquid principle. Then this Atma,
ntered again this earth in the form of rains. He is the supreme truth. Thus he is continuously present in light, water and the earth. He is immortal and omniscient.
नवमी ऋक् । अयं पृथिव्या अन्नमनु रेतो. ऽयं रेतसा तानृषीरनु यन् ॥ ऋषिभ्योऽयमूर्षिषु प्रविष्टः
स सत्योऽयममृतौ विश्ववेदाः ॥९॥ पदपाठः - अयम् । पृथिव्याः । अन्नम् । अनु । रेतः।
अयम् । रेतसा । तान् । ऋषीन् । अनु । यन् ।। ऋषि ऽभ्यः । अयम् । ऋर्षिषु । प्रऽविष्टः । सः । सत्यः । अयम् । अमृतः । विश्वऽवेदाः ॥
The Atmā entered into food through the earth, and through food he entered into the seminal fluid; and through that seminal fluid, he entered into the body of the ancient seers and through them entered other seers. The Atma is the truth, he is immortal and omniscient.
अन्वयभाष्यम् । अयं चेतनः अन्तरात्मा तदनन्तरं पृथिव्याः सकाशात् तेजोमुखेन उदितः सन् पृथिव्यामेवोत्पन्नं सरसं अन्नं च प्रविशन् तद् भोग्यमन्नमनुसृत्य रेतः रेतोरूपेण तथा तेन रेतसा सह उदियाय, ततश्च पुनः तेनैव रेतसा सतेजसेन सरसेन सभौमसत्त्वेन सचेतनेन । च सुवीर्येण तान् पूर्वान् ऋषीन् अनुसृत्य यन् अनुगच्छन् तेभ्यः प्राचीनेभ्यः ऋषिभ्यः सकाशात् ऋषिषु तदुत्तरेषु पश्चात्तनेषु आर्षबीजक्षेत्रपरम्पराप्रवाहोदितेषु ऋष्यन्तरेषु प्रविष्टः सन् तत्तदृषिरूपेणोदितः सोऽयमन्तरात्मा एवमजस्रधारया अनुस्यूतो भवति, अत एव सत्यः सत्स्वरूपः अनेकेषु शरीरेषु अतीतेष्वपि स्वयं अमृतः एकरूपेण अवस्थित: अविनाशी विश्ववेदाः सर्वज्ञः इति || अत्र औपनिषदं वचनमपि एतमेवार्थं समर्थयति, “ अविनाशी वा अरेऽयमात्मा अनुच्छित्तिधर्मा " इति ॥
