छन्दोदर्शनम
छन्दस्स्तुभमृक्वती जगतीं यदी
वाचं धिया कृणुते ब्रह्मणस्पतिः ॥ ७ ॥ पदपाठ :- ब्रह्मणः । पतिम् । ईयुषीम् । वाचम् । एताम् ।
प्रतीचीम् । विप्राः । सम् । धिया । शृणोतन ।। छन्दःऽस्तुभम् । ऋक्वतीम् । जगतीम् । यत् । ईम् इति। वाचम् । धिया । कृणुते । ब्रह्मणः । पतिः॥
You, wise men listen attentively to this Våk or speech which seeks to express Brahmaņaspati himself. He through his own power of intellect gives shape to this Våk or word. It is in the form of Ķks which are in Jagati metre.
अन्वयभाष्यम् । ब्रह्मणस्पतिं तं परमं पुरुषं ईयुषीं प्राप्तकामां एतां मन्त्रात्मिकां प्रतीची प्रत्यङ्मुखां प्रत्यगात्मस्वरूपां च परां वाचं हे विप्राः ! मेधाविनः ज्ञानिनः ! यूयं धिया बुद्ध्या अन्तर्मुखया सं शृणोतन सम्यक्तया शृणुत, यत् यस्मात् कारणात् छन्दस्स्तुभं छन्दसः स्तवनरूपां वेदात्मिकां ऋक्वी ऋग्रपां ऋमन्त्रलक्षणसम्पन्नां गायत्र्यादिवैदिकच्छन्दोनिबन्धनसिद्धां जगती द्वादशाक्षरसहितैः चतुर्भिः पादैः संहितां ई एनां परां वाचं सः ब्रह्मणस्पतिरेव सर्वेषां मूलाधारे प्रतिष्ठितः सन् धिया बुद्धया प्रज्ञानेन च कृणुते कुरुते स्वयमेव सूक्ष्मरूपेण प्रेरयतीति ।।
COMMENTARY_SUMMARY TRANSLATION This Väk in the form of mantra, desires to express Brahmaṇaspati. It has turned inward to do so. She is herself as it were the second Atma of Brahmanaspati. This supreme Speech, you the wise ones, hear with attention, because she is in the form of Veda full of the characteristics of Rgveda. She shares all metrical beauties of Gayatri etc. She appears in Jagati metre, with twelve syllables a line and has all the four lines. This supreme Vàk was given life and shape by Brahmaṇaspati, who is in the Muladhāra (the solar plexus ) in the body. It is endowed with intellect and highest knowledge. Brahmanaspati inspires Vāk in the form of fine vibrations.
अष्टमी ऋक् । ब्रह्मणस्पतेर्यः समिदं गृणात श्रदस्मै दानोऽमृतं नाम गुह्यम् ॥
