statements are poison and all truthful ones are like nectar " so says Daivarāta. The chief vital air in man is like the sun who makes sound on account of Tapas (heat ). This is borne out in the Section dealing with Vibhuti or power. Oh! Våk, you are articulate through the power of the sun. He who speaks with a firm basis in the Chief Pràņa or vital air, speaks powerfully.
नवमी ऋक् । नमस्ते देवि संस्रव चन्द्रमसेह मुधाने ।
रस पिबामि जिह्वया सरस्वत्यास्तव वचः ॥ ९ ॥ पदपाठ:- नमः। ते । देवि । सम्ऽस्रव । चन्द्रम॑सा । इह। मूर्धनि ।
रसम् । पिबामि । जिव्हया । सरस्वत्याः। तव । वाचः॥
Salutation to you, Oh Goddess ! move along with the moon in this head of mine. May I have the pleasure of drinking with my tongue, the sweet juice of your speech !
अन्वयभाष्यम् । हे देवि ! नमस्ते, इह मूर्धनि अन्तः चद्रंमसा रसात्मना सह संस्रव, मानसे स्फूर्ति अनेन याचते, सरस्वत्याः स्फूर्तिविशेषात् संस्रवन्त्याः इति नदीसाम्यात् एवमुक्तम्, तव वाचः रसं वाक्यसङ्घातरूपं जिया पिबामि आत्मतृप्तेः तद्वाग्रसेन तुष्यन् वदामीति ||
COMMENTARY-SUMMARY TRANSLATION Oh Goddess, salutation to you. Please move about in this brain of mine along with the moon, the sweet one. The seer requests for inspiration. Sarasvati is always like the stream of sweetness and the source of inspiration. I shall drink with my tongue the sweet juice of your speech. That will give me supreme satisfaction.
दशमी ऋक् । नमस्ते देवि सँस्वर नमस्तेऽस्तु स्वरवत्यै ।
जिव्हायाँ स्वर मेधया स्वरेण ब्रह्मणस्पतैः ॥ १० ॥ पदपाठ :- नमः । ते। देवि । सम्ऽस्वर । नमः। ते । अस्तु । स्वरऽवत्यै ।
जिव्हायाम् । स्वर । मेधा । स्वरेण । ब्रह्मणः । पतैः ॥
