came to the throne in coronation-hall of Suryabh Viman where Suryabh Dev was present. They greeted him with folded hand and touching their foreheads, they also prayed for his success. They then placed before him the material that was of great use, that was very costly and that which was fit for coronation of Suryabh Dev.
विवेचन - प्राचीनकाल मे राज्याभिषेक की एक विशेष मागलिक परम्परा थी। इसे केवल उत्सव रूप नही किन्तु मगल उत्सव मानते थे । जैसे राजाओं के अभिषेक की परम्परा थी लगभग उसी प्रकार का सूर्याभदेव के अभिषेक महोत्सव का वर्णन इस सूत्र मे है। लगभग इसी प्रकार का वर्णन जीवाभिगमसूत्र विजयदेव के अभिषेक का है।
सर्वप्रथम सोना, चाँदी, मणि, मिट्टी आदि आठ प्रकार के एक हजार आठ कलशो मे क्षीर समुद्र, पुष्करोदक समुद्र का जल भरा । वहाँ से सुगन्धित कमल आदि लिये। फिर मागध, प्रभास, वरदाम तीर्थो का जल तथा वहाँ की मिट्टी ली। इसके बाद गगा, सिन्धु आदि नदियो का जल तथा वहाँ के दोनो तो की मिट्टी भी ली। उसके बाद पर्वतो पर जाकर वहाँ के तरह-तरह के फूल, सुगन्धित द्रव्य, औषधियाँ (वनस्पति) तथा सरसो (सिद्धार्थक ) ली और पुडरीक - पद्म ग्रह का जल व वहाँ उत्पन्न भिन्न-भिन्न जाति के कमल आदि लिये ।
इसी प्रकार सभी क्षेत्रो की नदियाँ, पर्वतो के गध द्रव्यो का जल, पुष्प, वनस्पतियाँ, गोशीर्ष चन्दन तथा अन्य सुगन्धित जल और नदी तटो की मिट्टी आदि लेकर आते हैं।
इस वर्णन से पता चलता है कि मागलिक द्रव्यो मे सरसो की प्रमुख गणना की गई है और उसे सिद्धार्थक (सब कार्य सिद्ध करने वाली ) कहा है। समुद्र - नदी जल, नदी तटो की मिट्टी, पर्वतो पर उगी दिव्य औषधियाँ व कमल आदि जल मे उत्पन्न होने वाले पुष्प व वृक्षो पर लगे पुष्प आदि तथा गो चन्दन व अन्य सुगन्धित द्रव्यो का अभिषेक, पूजन आदि क्रियाओ मे आज भी महत्त्वपूर्ण स्थान है।
इस वर्णन मे यह भी महत्त्व की बात है कि स्वर्ग के देवता भी अपने अभिषेक महोत्सवो मे मनुष्य लोक के जल, मिट्टी, पुष्प, वनस्पतियो आदि को सर्वाधिक मागलिक मानकर उनका उपयोग करते है ।
Elaboration-In the ancient period, there was an auspicious tradition of coronation. It was not simply a festival but it was considered an auspicious festival Just as the coronation of kings was done as a traditional custom, almost in the same fashion, coronation of Suryabh Dev has been described in this aphorism. Also similar account is that of the coronation of Vijay Dev in Jivabhigam Sutra.
