________________ ILLUSTRATION OF RED-HOT IRON 251. Replying to the argument of king Pradeshi, Keshi Kumar Shraman said "O Pradeshi! Have you ever seen the red-hot iron or have you ever heated iron yourself in the fire ?' Pradeshi replied "Yes Sir." Then Keshi Kumar Shraman said-"O Pradeshi! Does the iron become completely fire-like when heated or does it not become so ?" Pradeshi replied - "Sir ! It becomes.” Keshi Kumar Shraman asked-"O Pradeshi ! At that time does any hole or suchlike appear in the iron through which the fire entered the iron." Pradeshi replied "Sir! There is no suchlike thing. No hole appears in the iron." Keshi Kumar Shraman then said "Similarly Jiva (soul) is also of uncontrollable movement. It enters through the earth, the heavy stone and suchlike from outside. So you have the belief that soul and body are different." Jain Education International (346) For Private Personal Use Only Rai-paseniya Sutra www.jainelibrary.org
