Reverend Sir ! In case there had been any difference in the weight in two states namely in the living state and in the dead state; in case the body had become lighter after death, I could soul and body are different entities--that soul and body are not same entity.
But I did not find any difference in weight in the living state of that person and weight when he was dead nor I found him lighter then. So it is my logical deduction that soul is the body and body is the same and that soul and body are not different entities.” हवा भरी वस्ति (मसक) का उदाहरण
२५७. तए णं केसी कुमारसमणे परसिं रायं एवं वयासी
अत्थि णं पएसी ! तुमे कयाइ वत्थी धंतपुवे वा धमावियपुव्वे वा ? हंता अत्थिा
अस्थि णं पएसी ! तस्स वत्थिस्स पुण्णस्स वा तुलियस्स अपुण्णस्स वा तुलियस्स केइ अण्णत्ते वा जाव लहुयत्ते वा ?
णो तिणठे समठे। ___ एवामेव पएसी ! जीवस्स अगुरुलहुयत्तं पुडुच्च जीवंतस्स वा तुलियस्स मुयस्स वा
तुलियस्स नत्थि केइ आणत्ते वा जाव लहुयत्ते वा, तं सद्दाहि णं तुमं पएसी ! तं चेव। ___२५७. तब केशीकुमार श्रमण ने समाधान देते हुए कहा
“प्रदेशी ! तुमने कभी धौंकनी (वस्ति-मसक) में हवा भरी है अथवा किसी से भरवाई है?' __ प्रदेशी-"हॉ, भदन्त ! भरी है और भरवाई भी है।'
केशीकुमार श्रमण- "हे प्रदेशी ! जब वायु से भरकर उस मसक को तोला तब, और वायु को निकालकर तोला तब तुमको उसके वजन में कुछ न्यूनाधिकता (हल्का-भारीपन) मालूम हुई?" __ प्रदेशी-“भदन्त ! ऐसा तो नहीं है, यानी न्यूनाधिकता-लघुता कुछ भी मालूम नहीं हुई।
केशीकुमार श्रमण-“हे प्रदेशी ! इसी प्रकार जीव के अगुरु-लघुत्व स्वभाव को समझकर उस चोर के शरीर के जीवितावस्था में किये गये तोल में और मृतावस्था में किये
