(d) When the sugarcane crop is being harvested, it is being en crushed, the passers by enjoy its juice, the people are exchanging
sugarcane, the sugarcane field looks very beautiful and pleasant. * But when the crop is not being harvested, the people are not
passing by that side, then it is no longer pleasant, enjoyable and a auspicious.
(ङ) जया णं खलवाडे उच्छुब्भइ उडुइजइ मलइजइ मुणिजइ खन्नइ पिजइ दिन्नइ तया
खलवाडे रमणिज्जे भवति जया णं खलवाडे नो उच्छुब्भइ जाव अरमणिज्जे भवति। __से तेणट्टेणं पएसी ! एवं वुचइ मा णं तुमे पएसी ! पुब्बिं रमणिज्जे भवित्ता पच्छा * अरमणिज्जे भविजासि जहा वणसंडे इ वा।
(ङ) जब तक खेत के खलवाड-(खलिहान) में धान्य के ढेर लगे रहते हैं, धान की al उडावनी होती रहती है, धान्य का मर्दन (दॉय) होता रहता है, तिल आदि पेरे जाते हैं, लोग * एक साथ मिलकर खाते-पीते, एक-दूसरे को देते-लेते हैं, तब तक वह रमणीय प्रतीत * होता है। लेकिन जब धान्य के ढेर आदि नहीं रहते, किसी का आवागमन नहीं रहता, सूना * खेत-खलिहान अरमणीय दिखने लगता है। " इसीलिए मैंने यह कहा है कि हे प्रदेशी ! इन वनखंड, नाट्यशाला आदि की भाँति तुम
भी पहले रमणीय होकर बाद में अरमणीय मत हो जाना।" ___(e) When there are heaps of harvested crop in the field, the crop is being threshed, the til crop is being crushed, the people eat jointly and give similarly to others also, it looks very charming. But when there are no longer heaps of corn, nobody comes to that side. The barren field op threshing ground looks unpleasant.
0 Pradeshi, due to these facts, I had cautioned you that like the already mentioned forest-region, the dancing hall and others you,
who look grand and loveable now may not become unpleasant * later."
विवेचन-प्रस्तुत सूत्र मे आया यह वाक्य-'मा णं तुमं पएसी ! पुव्विं रमणिज्जे भवित्ता पच्छा अरमणिज्जे * भवजासि' बहुत ही अर्थपूर्ण है। टीकाकार आचार्य ने इसका आशय स्पष्ट करते हुए लिखा है-केशीकुमार
श्रमण प्रदेशी राजा से यह कहना चाहते है कि राजन् ! जब तुम धर्मानुगामी नही थे, तब दूसरे लोगो
को दान देते थे, बहुत लोगो का भरण-पोषण करते थे, तो दान देने की और लोक-सग्रह की यह प्रथा * अब भी चालू रखना, बन्द मत कर देना। अर्थात् पूर्व में जैसे रमणीय-दानी थे उसी तरह अब भी
रमणीय-दानी बने रहना किन्तु अरमणीय न होना। यदि अरमणीय हो जाओगे-संकुचित दृष्टि वाले हो * केशीकुमार श्रमण और प्रदेशी राजा
