केशीकुमार श्रमण - ( अब मैं पुनः तुमसे पूछता हूँ कि ) " हे प्रदेशी । वही तरुण यावत् कार्यकुशल पुरुष क्या सडी-गली, पुरानी, कमजोर, घुन से खाई हुई कावड से, जीर्ण-शीर्ण, दुर्बल, दीमक के खाये एवं ढीलेढाले सींके से और पुराने, कमजोर तथा दीमक लगी टोकरी से एक बड़े वजनदार लोहे के भार आदि को ढोने में समर्थ होता है ?”
प्रदेशी - "हे भदन्त ! ऐसा नहीं हो सकता है। जीर्ण-शीर्ण कावड आदि से भार ले जाने में वह समर्थ नहीं होता है । "
केशीकुमार श्रमण - "क्यों नहीं समर्थ है ?"
प्रदेशी - "क्योंकि भदन्त ! उस पुरुष के पास भारवहन करने के उपकरण - साधन जीर्ण-शीर्ण हैं इस कारण ।"
केशीकुमार श्रमण - "हे प्रदेशी ! इसी प्रकार वह पुरुष जीर्ण यावत् थके हुए शरीर आदि उपकरणों वाला होने से एक भारी वजनदार लोहे के भार को वहन करने में समर्थ नहीं है। इसीलिए प्रदेशी ! तुम यह श्रद्धा और विश्वास करो कि जीव अन्य है और शरीर अन्य है। जीव शरीर नहीं है और शरीर जीव नहीं है ।"
255. Then Keshi Kumar Shraman replied
“0 Pradeshi ! Imagine a young, expert person. Is he capable or not, of lifting a big heavy iron load with a new big basket, in a new swing made of string or a new bamboo basket ?"
Pradeshi replied "Yes, he is capable."
Keshi Kumar Shraman again said "O Pradeshi ! Can the same young expert person lift the heavy load with a rotten, old, weak and insect-eaten basket, very weak, insect-eaten loose swing or old, weak and insect-eaten bamboo basket ?"
Pradeshi replies- “ Sir ! It is not possible. He can't carry the load is with very weak basket and suchlike others."
Keshi Kumar Shraman asked-"Why is he not capable ?"
Pradeshi replied "Sir! The instruments with him to carry the load are very weak and old."
Keshi Kumar Shraman said "O Pradeshi ! Similarly that man has old upto tired body as his instruments. So he is not able to carry a heavy load. So O Pradeshi ! You have faith, you believe that soul and body are different. Soul is not body and body is not soul."
