" (2) New born hellish beings are tortured repeatedly by demon* gods (Paramadharmık demons), so they keenly desire to come back
to the human world, but the demon-gods do not allow them to do so
and, therefore, they cannot come. 9 (3) Newly born hellish beings repeatedly desire to come to the
human world, but due to the bondage of inauspicious fruit-hearing
karmas, while undergoing pain they are not able to shed that fruit Men (painful state). As such they are not capable of coming out of hell.
(4) Till the hellish life-span (the determined age of hell) does not come to an end, the hellish beings cannot come out of hell even if they keenly desire to go away. ___So, O Pradeshi ! You believe it, have faith in this statement that Jiva (soul) is different from the body.
You should not conclude that soul is the body and body is the
soul.”
देवताओं के नहीं आने के चार कारण । २४६. तए णं से पएसी राया केसि कुमारसमणं एवं वयासी
अस्थि णं भंते ! एसा पण्णा उवमा, इमेण पुण कारणेण नो उवागच्छइ, एवं खलु भंते ! मम अज्जिया होत्था, इहेव सेयवियाए नगरीए धम्मिया जाव वित्तिं कप्पेमाणी समणोवासिया अभिगयजीवा जीवे सव्वो वण्णओ जाव-अप्पाणं भावेमाणी विहरइ, सा णं तुझं वत्तव्बयाए सुबहुं पुनोवचयं समज्जिणित्ता कालमासे कालं किच्चा अण्णयरेसु देवलोएसु देवत्ताए उववण्णा, तीसे णं अज्जियाए अहं नत्तुए होत्था इट्टे कंते जाव पासणयाए, तं जइ णं सा अज्जिया मम आगंतुं एवं वएज्जा-एवं खलु नत्तुया ! अहं तव अज्जिया होत्था, इहेब सेयवियाए नगरीए धम्मिया जाव वित्तिं कप्पेमाणी समणोवासिया
जाव विहरामि। तए णं अहं सुबहं पुण्णोवचयं समज्जिणित्ता जाव देवलोएसु उववण्णा, तं * तुमं पि णत्तुया ! भवाहि धम्मिए जाव विहराहि, तए णं तुमं पि एयं चेव सुबहुं पुण्णोवचयं समज्जिणित्ता जाव उववजिहिसि।
तं जइ णं अज्जिया मम आगंतुं एवं वएज्जा तो णं अहं सद्दहेज्जा, पत्तिएज्जा, रोइज्जा * जहाअण्णो जीवो अण्णं सरीरं णो तं जीवो तं सरीरं। जम्हा सा अज्जिया मम आगंतुं णो एवं " वदासी, तम्हा सुपइट्ठिया मे पइण्णा जहा-तं जीवो तं सरीरं, नो अन्नो जीवो अन्नं सरीरं।।
